Disaster Management is difficult. It is magnified so high when it is the second most populated country !
Its is easy to criticize and complain about India. Usually, thats what we Indians do.
But this is one of those times when the Indian Meteorological Department, Home Ministry, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh governments and National Disaster Management Authority need to be applauded.
Kudos to them!
Especially, the AP government and government officials, who put aside their Telegana woes and rightly diverted their attention to the emergency! Good Job, Guys!
Take that cyclone Phailin!
The cyclone as it happened:
We seem to have learnt some lessons from Super cyclone in 1999 when 10,000 lives were lost.
I hear that nearly a million people were evacuated from AP and Odisha! That aint a joke. Where do you find space to keep so many people?
The rehabilitation is a huge work again. I wish all the people, all best! This proves that preparedness always pays off. All the people of Coastal Odisha should be thankful of the government.
